Research:
My current research is focused on mixed electron and ion conducting polymer materials for battery applications.
Bio:
I grew up in West Bengal, India, in a small town named Siliguri. I graduated from Lady Brabourne College, Kolkata, India (affiliated with the University of Calcutta), with a B.Sc in Chemistry in 2015. Thereafter, I attended Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) to pursue an M.Sc degree in chemistry where I worked on droplet synthesis of quantum dots using nano electrospray ionization at the DST Unit of nanoscience, under the supervision of Prof. T. Pradeep. Having been fascinated by the field of material science, in 2017, I moved to the United States to acquire a Ph.D. in Chemistry from USC under the guidance of Prof. Barry C. Thomson. My doctoral work focused on the design of dioxythiophene conducting polymers as electrode binders in lithium-ion batteries. In October 2022, I joined Prof. Rachel A. Segalman’s group at UCSB as a postdoctoral research scholar to learn more about polymer physics and its applications in materials science.
