Bio:
After completing my undergraduate studies, I spent 4 years in the food and plastic film industries. Although born and raised in Virginia, since leaving for college I have taken a mini-tour of the country, living in: Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Ft. Smith, AR; Greenville, SC; and now Santa Barbara, CA. My work in the plastics industry centered around optimizing the polyester film making process, as well as new formulations and methods for film coatings. This work reminded me of my love for learning and research, inspiring me to pursue a graduate degree. Outside of STEM, I love spending time outdoors, any/all dogs, gardening, cooking, and baking!
